The objective of the OTHM Level 5 Extended Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management qualification is to provide learners with a specialist programme of study that provides a depth of knowledge and understanding of key aspects within the Logistics and Supply Chain Management sector.
Learners will study Level 4 and 5 units, each worth 120 credits per academic year, resulting in a total credit value of 240 credits. This, in turn, is equivalent to the first two years of an honours degree. Additionally, it is important to note that all units are mandatory. The Level 4 units, therefore, lay the foundations of learning by providing an introduction to contemporary Business and LCSM (Logistics and Supply Chain Management) topics. The OTHM Level 5 Extended Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management qualification consists of 12 mandatory units. Therefore, it comprises 240 credits, 2400 hours of Total Qualification Time (TQT), and a minimum of 1200 Guided Learning Hours (GLH).
To achieve the OTHM Level 5 Extended Diploma in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, learners must earn 240 credits. Specifically, 120 credits must be at Level 4, covering 6 units. Additionally, 120 credits must be at Level 5, also covering 6 units. Consequently, learners will engage in a comprehensive program that blends practical and theoretical learning. They must also meet the standards specified by all assessment criteria. The Assessor, therefore, makes a judgment that learners have successfully fulfilled the assessment criteria. Furthermore, the Assessor should provide an audit trail showing how they arrived at the judgment of the learners’ overall achievement. This audit trail, in turn, ensures transparency and accountability in the assessment process. Consequently, learners can clearly understand the basis of their evaluation. |
