Course Outline

The OTHM Level 4 Certificate in Equality, Diversity and Inclusion qualification includes 3 mandatory units, totalling 36 credits. This qualification requires 360 hours of Total Qualification Time (TQT), with a recommended minimum of 125 Guided Learning Hours (GLH).

  • Equality and Diversity (6 Credits)
  • Inclusive Practice (15 Credits)
  • Action Research (15 Credits)

These units provide a comprehensive foundation in promoting and implementing equality, diversity, and inclusive practices. By completing this qualification, learners will gain the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in roles that focus on these critical areas.

Requirements

This qualification is designed for learners typically aged 19 and above.

The entry profile for learners must include:

  • Being 19 years old or older at the beginning of the course.
  • A minimum core of literacy, language, numeracy, and ICT skills.
  • At least a Level 3 qualification in their area of specialism.

Alternatively:

  • Mature learners (over 21) with relevant management experience. However, learners should confirm this experience with the delivery centre before registering for the programme.

English Requirements: If a learner is not from a majority English-speaking country, they must provide evidence of English language competency. All units within this qualification are assessed internally by the centre and verified externally by OTHM. These qualifications are criterion-referenced, focusing on the achievement of all specified learning outcomes.

To achieve a ‘pass’ for a unit, learners must provide evidence showing they have fulfilled all the learning outcomes. They must also meet the standards specified by the assessment criteria. The assessor makes the judgment on whether learners have successfully met these criteria.

Additionally, the assessor should create an audit trail clearly demonstrating how they arrived at their judgment of the learners’ overall achievement. Specific assessment guidance and relevant marking criteria for each unit are available in the Assignment Brief document, which can be requested by centres.
